Qualcomm Snapdragon 730 was released just a few weeks ago and now recent rumours point towards the existence of a Snapdragon 735 chipset. Recent Qualcomm Snapdragon 735 specifications leak from an internal document states that there’s a 735 too in the works. The leaked internal document clearly states a lot of specs and other relevant details about the chipset.
The Snapdragon 735 would be built on a 7nm process just like the top of the line Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chipset. It will have an OCTA core CPU configuration in a 1 + 1 + 6 core setup. It’s neither a 2 + 2 + 4 setup like the 855 or 2 + 6 core setup like the Snapdragon 730.
Its clock speed is expected to be 1*2.9GHz + 1*2.4GHz + 6*1.8GHz. The Kryo 400 cores are most likely to be Cortex 76 based and the six others in the little architecture are expected to be Cortex A55 based.
The Adreno 620 GPU on the inside is expected to be clocked at 750 MHz, which will be lower than the 825MHz clock speed for the Adreno 618 present in the Snapdragon 730. The Snapdragon 735 would also come with an NPU200 clocked at 1GHz for AI-based operations.
The Qualcomm Snapdragon 735 leaks suggest that it might also have a 5G modem. If that’s the case then it suggests that Qualcomm might be working on bringing 5G networks to the mid-range before expected. The networks might not be in place yet but Qualcomm seems pretty aggressive in their stance towards 5g adoption worldwide.
The rumoured source for this internal leak is the same which leaked the Snapdragon 730 last year and it was accurate.
So it’s most likely that this leak is also true to a huge extent.
So what do you think is 5g coming in really soon to the midrange? Do let us know in the comments section below!
