On August 27th, Sony made an announcement regarding their plans to host a new product launch conference for Xperia on September 1st at 3 p.m. During this event, it is anticipated that they will unveil the Xperia 5 V smartphone. Existing users have come across the North American model of the Xperia 5 V on Geekbench, where certain crucial specifications were revealed. Based on the Geekbench results, the Xperia 5 V (XQ-DE54) is equipped with a 3.19GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, 8GB of RAM, and comes with an Android 13-based operating system pre-installed. In performance tests, the Xperia 5 V achieved a score of 1,453 in the single-core test and 4,556 in the multi-core test. According to a few earlier reports, leaked promotional advertisements of the Sony Xperia 5 V indicate a noticeable change compared to the previous generation: the rear camera module has shifted from three cameras to dual cameras. Regarding the specifications, it has been reported that the Sony Xperia 5 V will feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, with an option for either 16GB or 12GB of memory, and it will support 33W rapid charging. The previous model, Xperia 5 IV, is scheduled for release in China in October 2022. It will be equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor, and the 8GB+256GB version will be priced at 6,299 yuan or INR 71,334. The Sony Xperia 5 IV boasts a 6.1-inch FHD+ resolution OLED screen with a 21:9 screen ratio and supports a high refresh rate of 120Hz.
