According to reputed website TechPowerUp, they somehow obtained AMD Zen 2 roadmap of products for May 2019. One of the big revelations that they found is that AMD has quietly removed the Zen 2 Threadripper from its product roadmap for this year.
TechPowerUp predicts that there may be mistakes made by AMD staff in the presentation. And, of course, there might be supply chain problems. This is because the 7-nanometer process is currently the latest process.
This also means that AMD must share TSMC’s 7-nanometer wafers with many well-known companies such as Qualcomm. This is because TSMC is the only known manufacturer doing the majority of 7nm silicon manufacturing. This may mean that the supply is too tight. This may make AMD prioritize the Third Zen Ryzen lineup before other products.
It is reported that AMD will announce the 7nm third-generation Ryzen processors at the Taipei Computer Show on May 27. While the 7nm Navi graphics cards would be released in the third quarter later this year.
So guys what do you think? Is this roadmap accurate? Or just another planted leak from AMD’s side so that they can surprise all of us later on!
