I don’t know how many people still remember when the Canon EOS M series was last released. Anyway, since Canon released the full-frame non-reflex camera last year, the EOS M series has no fresh launches. In fact, the latest EOS M50 was released in February last year. But because of the EOS R full-frame format camera, there is no decline of interest as of yet. But recent news suggests that there will be new additions soon.

However, just recently, according to some sources, Canon will update the EOS M camera system in August this year. The camera that can be expected is the EOS M5 Mark II. By 2020, the Canon EOS M-series APS-C format non-reflex camera system will have three main products, namely EOS M500, EOS M50 and EOS M5 MarkII.
As for when the EOS M500 will be released, there is no news yet about it. The possibility of being released concurrently with the EOS M5 Mark II is not ruled out for this model. In addition, the source also revealed that there are two EF-M lenses to be released along with the new Canon EOS M. There is no more information about the two lenses as of yet.
In fact, Xiao Bian feels that no one should worry. Canon might never give up the APS-C format altogether. This is because not everyone will buy or need full frame cameras. Just like the SLR camera, sme people will buy the APS-C format and some people will buy the full frame. So it is still not possible to completely abandon the EOS M series.
So guys what do you think? Is it possible that this year’s mirrorless cameras by Canon would be really competitive? Do let us know in the comments section below!
