Capcom’s upcoming open-world survival horror game, Resident Evil 9, has reportedly been delayed internally for undisclosed reasons, potentially missing its anticipated 2025 release window.
This information was shared on Discord by insiders.
Additionally, there are unconfirmed reports suggesting that another game in the series might launch before Resident Evil 9, speculated to be a remake, such as Resident Evil Code: Veronica or Resident Evil 5.
Capcom’s previous installment, Resident Evil Village, released on May 7, 2021, is a sequel to Resident Evil 7 and marks the tenth main entry in the series. Following the release of Resident Evil Village, last year saw the release of a remake of Resident Evil 4. This remake has been well-received, staying true to the original and garnering a Metacritic score of 93 and a 97% approval rating on Steam.
