OpenAI COO Brad Lightcap recently stated that AI chatbots like ChatGPT will make significant advances within the next 12 months, making our current systems seem laughably inadequate.
Lightcap added that AI tools will be capable of handling more complex tasks than ever before, becoming excellent partners for users in solving any given problem.
According to reports from sources, these predictions align with previous comments by OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, who mentioned that GPT-4 is somewhat lacking.
It was revealed that OpenAI spent over $520 million on ChatGPT last year. Altman pointed out that cost isn’t the main issue; instead, the focus is on enhancing the performance and accuracy of large language models.
Altman also noted that the future AI revolution won’t require new hardware as it will rely on cloud computing. However, users might appreciate having new devices if the shift requires more complex software and hardware.
