Microsoft recently released their annual Work Trend Index report which reveals that 75% of “knowledge workers” are now utilizing generative AI in their duties, a figure that has doubled in the last six months.
According to Microsoft, a knowledge worker broadly refers to anyone working primarily at a desk, whether it be in an office or a home setting.
The data also indicates that 41% of leaders are attempting to rebuild their businesses from scratch with AI at the core, while 60% of leaders express concerns about their company’s lack of focus on AI and the integration of AI strategies and visions.
Additionally, 52% of employees are hesitant to admit their use of AI in crucial tasks, with 53% fearing they might appear replaceable by AI in these areas.
A survey highlighted that 78% of employees speed up their work using AI tools, irrespective of whether their company provides AI tools or has an AI strategy.
Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella remarked that AI is democratizing expertise across the workforce, and the company’s latest research demonstrates that every organization has the opportunity to leverage this technology for improved decision-making, collaboration, and business outcomes.
