According to some reliable foreign media reports, Huawei in cooperation with mobile operator Sunrise officially launched Huawei Mate 20 X 5G version in Switzerland. The device would go on sale from May 2.
According to the Swiss carrier’s local 5G network test results, the Huawei Mate 20X 5G achieves a download speed of up to 1.5 Gbps. The device can download 3GB full HD movies in a few seconds. It also allows smooth viewing of UHD video without any buffering.
It was reported that on Tuesday, Sunrise announced that it will start offering three 5G smartphones from three different Chinese mobile phone manufacturers this week. Sales of OPPO Reno 5G began on May 1, while Huawei Mate 20 X 5G and Xiaomi Mix 3 5G began sales on Thursday, 2nd of May.
The Huawei Mate 20 X 5G version adds support for 5G network based on Mate 20 X. The appearance of the two devices is basically the same. Except that the former adds a 5G logo on the back and adds a new colour scheme.
The Mate 20 X 5G paradigm: What’s different?
In terms of the configuration in addition to the newly added 5G multimode terminal chip Balong 5000, the Huawei Mate 20 X 5G version is almost the same as the normal version. It sports a 7.2-inch display with a resolution of 2244 × 1080. It is equipped with a Kirin 980 processor. And it comes equipped with 8GB of memory plus 256GB of storage. On the rear, it has a 40 MP + 20 MP + 8 MP triple camera sensor. The battery capacity has been reduced to 4200mAh (on the standard version it’s 5000mAh). But there’s support for 40W fast charging which is higher than before.
In terms of the selling price, the Mate 20 X 5G version is priced at about $980 which is just shy of the $1000 mark! Personally, we believe that it’s a bit too early for these 5G devices as we need more global support as well as power efficiency.
