On July 8th, MSI officially announced the Alpha 17 C7V series of gaming notebooks: the Thunderbird 17 Ryzen Gaming Notebook, featuring the Ryzen 7000HX processor and optional RTX 4060 and RTX 4070 graphics cards.
MSI’s official website displays that this series of notebooks is equipped with the Ryzen 9 7000HX processor, offering a choice of either the RTX 4060 or RTX 4070 graphics card, and delivering a performance output of 195W. The memory supports dual DDR5-5200, while the SSD supports two PCIe 4.0 models.
The device has a 17.3-inch screen with a 16:9 ratio, with optional 1080p 144Hz or 1440p 240Hz resolution. The notebook’s dimensions are 397 x 284 x 25.9 mm.
According to some previous reports, to unleash the power of the AMD Ryzen 9 7945HX mobile processor, the Thunderbird 17 has been improved from the original GP77 classic design.
The upgraded model not only provides cooling support for flagship hardware but also optimizes details for an enhanced gaming experience.
Furthermore, the Thunderbird 17 is the world’s first gaming notebook to feature the Qualcomm FastConnect 7800 Wi-Fi 7 module.
The Qualcomm FastConnect 7800 boasts impressive theoretical performance, with support for the 5GHz / 6GHz frequency band, a peak speed of up to 5.8 Gbps, a latency as low as 2 milliseconds, and a bandwidth channel of 320MHz.
The battery capacity is also expanded to 99.9Whr (the maximum capacity permitted on a plane).
The SteelSeries single-key RGB backlit keyboard is also included, with individual lighting effect settings available for each key, providing an outstanding keyboard experience.
