“Mortal Kombat 1” Announces Crossover with American Comic “The Boys”, Featuring Playable Character “Homelander”
There are now new additions in the latest update for the game “Mortal Kombat 1.” The game has recently collaborated with the American comic series “The Boys” to include the antagonist “Homelander” as a playable character.
While the specific release date for this character is not yet announced, the developer NetherRealm Studios has released a trailer showcasing his combat abilities in the game.
Homelander, whose real name is John Gillman, is financially backed by Vought Industries. He leads a team of reckless superheroes known as the “Seven,” and he is the arch-nemesis of CIA black ops member Billy Butcher.
At the beginning of the story, Homelander is considered the primary villain of the comics, though his ultimate fate is surpassed by Black Noir in the storyline.
Garth Ennis, the creator of the character, describes Homelander as a fundamentally negative character formed by a series of poor impulses controlled by his intellect. Ennis notes that Homelander’s self-control is roughly on par with that of a 14-year-old.
The game is also supposed to feature Peacemaker as portrayed by John Cena in the recent past along with OmniMan, Quan Chi, Takeda and Ermac.
