Which iPhone should I buy? (2018 edition guide)

The comprehensive guide you need for buying the iPhone of your dreams!

Are you someone who is fed up with Android? Slow updates, fragmented ecosystem, poor camera implementation in leading applications like Instagram, Snapchat letting you down?

Are you a long-term iPhone user finally planning to upgrade to that awesome almost bezel-less iPhone X experience.

Or have you always been enticed by the ads of “If it isn’t an iPhone, it isn’t an iPhone?”

Then look no further fellas you are the right place.

Today we will tell you all about which iPhone should you buy in 2018, especially when the Android market has heated up so considerably.

So the cheapest model that you can buy new right of the shelf these days is the iPhone SE.

It’s a very polarizing smartphone. A lot of people like it because it’s quite handy and still powerful. But a lot of people hate on it because of the size. It feels quite small compared to all of the near bezel-less smartphones available these days which have displays which reach up to 6 inches in size.

A device with a 4-inch display definitely feels smaller when compared to that.

The merits of this phone include the fact that despite being an old phone it’s rocking the internals of an iPhone 6s and still feels quite snappy when compared to older models of the iPhone.

The demerits are many and the 2 MP front facing camera is one of them. It also sports a first generation touch id which might not feel that good to a lot of people.

The next practical option is the iPhone 7.

The iPhone 7 is a generation older but it’s still quite snappy and about the right size when it comes to ease of usage vs ease of handling.

It’s still fast enough to be usable for few more generations and the camera is not that bad.

The iPhone 7 plus is a good option for those looking for something bigger and yet not extremely expensive.

It has all the merits of the iPhone 7 along with a slightly better camera and a bigger battery.

The iPhone 8 and 8 plus are rocking the same internals as the iPhone X but these are not something that we would recommend.

This is simply because the pricing of these phones combined with the lack of enough new features makes them a little harder to recommend.

They don’t have the great bezel-less experience of the iPhone X, no touch gesture support, no Face ID and yet the pricing is quite high. Hence these phones are something you should skip if you really want to spend that much money.

You can easily up your budget by a bit and go for the iPhone X if you really want to spend up to $1000!

Finally, the iPhone X is a great buy for those people who are willing to invest in this notched monster.

It has got a great camera, one of the fastest mobile processors on the market. A beautiful display with an amazing contrast ratio and brightness. Add to this the fact that this was Apple’s flagship product for their tenth anniversary and they are expected to support it for quite some time. All of this makes it quite a sweet deal.

But it’s not all Apples and peaches in here.

Apple is expected to launch three new iPhones by September this year.

If you are someone who hasn’t bought an iPhone yet and has the budget to go for something like the iPhone 7, 7 plus or above, then we would recommend you to wait a little longer.

Apple is expected to drop the three different iPhones rocking the same iPhone X style design with differences in display sizes.

Two of the rumoured three models are expected to come with LCD displays and would be cheaper.

So if you are someone who doesn’t want to settle for an older iPhone then we would definitely recommend you to wait till the new iPhones are launched.

For everyone else, the options are quite clear.

If you are a fan of used/refurbished products then we have few more picks for you.

The iPhone 6, iPhone 6 plus are the basic entry-level phones that we can still recommend because they are still fast enough for a lot of days to day tasks.

With the iOS 12 update and the expected speed improvements it might bring we can expect things to become a lot better for both of these phones.

The 6s and 6s Plus are better in terms of performance but don’t expect them to be really amazing.

Still, you can expect both of these phones to be usable for at least 2-3 years more with the current schedule of iOS updates.

So are you really gonna buy a new iPhone? Or is your current Android phone serving you well?
