On April 20, during the Mercedes-AMG Brand Night, the new high-performance “beast,” the 2025 AMG GT 63 S E Performance, made its global debut.
Officially, this vehicle features F1 racetrack power technology, achieving a 0-100 km/h acceleration in just 2.9 seconds, and can reach top speeds of 320 km/h.
The AMG GT 63 S E Performance is a four-door high-performance sports car and is the strongest model in the new AMG lineup. It utilizes a plug-in hybrid system.
The design of the lower part of the new car has been redesigned, adopting a front face similar to the previously released two-door version.
The air intakes on both sides of the front have become separate forms, and their shape has also become narrower, as opposed to the old model that used a continuous design.
The rear of the car features quad exhausts and side-mounted duct designs, and the new model continues to use an adjustable electric spoiler.
The motor is mounted directly on the rear axle, capable of independently producing 201 horsepower and 320 Newton meters of torque, which is transmitted to the rear differential via a two-speed automatic gearbox.
Thanks to the AMG “4MATIC+” mechanical all-wheel drive system, when the vehicle detects rear wheel slip, the motor can also transfer power to the front wheels.
Positioned above the rear axle, the 400-volt 6.1 kWh battery pack employs a unique cooling system, which involves individually delivering non-conductive liquid to each battery cell, rather than using air or other indirect cooling methods.
According to AMG, the lithium-ion battery technology in the 63 S E Performance is derived from its Formula One race cars.
The battery can provide sufficient power for the motor to continuously output 94 horsepower, with a peak output of 201 horsepower. As a plug-in hybrid vehicle, the GT63 S E Performance can be plugged in to charge. Although the pure electric range has not been announced, it is expected to be modest.
The new vehicle is equipped with a 4.0T twin-turbocharged V8 engine and an electric motor that forms a plug-in hybrid system, offering a combined power output of 831 horsepower and a staggering combined torque of 1400 Newton-meters.
The transmission system is matched with a 9-speed manual-automatic combined gearbox, and it also features the AMG Performance 4Matic+ four-wheel drive system, enabling it to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in just 2.9 seconds and reach a top speed of 320 km/h.
Like all modern AMG models, this vehicle also offers multiple driving modes, such as “Comfort,” “Wet,” “Sport,” “Sport+,” “Race,” and “Individual,” to ensure optimal performance under various conditions.
Moreover, since this is a hybrid model, the car also offers “Electric” and “Battery Hold” modes.
