Apple is introducing a significant upgrade with the iPhone 17 Pro series, unveiling a new quad-reflective prism telephoto lens.
This advanced lens, potentially exclusive to the iPhone 17 Pro Max, represents a major enhancement from the previous version.
In the iPhone 15 Pro Max, Apple introduced the quad-reflective prism lens, enabling 5x optical zoom.
The lens operates by reflecting light four times within a compact space, extending the optical path for improved focal length without increasing the device size.
Apple incorporates a 3D sensor-shift optical image stabilization and an autofocus module in the iPhone 15 Pro Max. This system moves in three directions to stabilize images effectively.
Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo predicted that the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max would also feature this technology.
He anticipates a significant rise in shipments of iPhones with this lens in 2024, projecting an increase of approximately 110%, equating to 70-80 million units.
