Moto M specifications and price in India

Motorola Moto MMoto M is the latest phone by Motorola launched on 13th November, 2016. It’ll be exclusively available on Flipkart from 14th December, 11:59 pm. Exclusive offers for users was mentioned in the launch and will be available from 15th December. Also, there’s an additional exchange offer of upto Rs.2000 on older smartphones.

Let’s discuss about the features of this smartphone in more detail.

Moto M Specifications:

With dual sim (GSM+GSM) and 4G connectivity, Moto M comes with two variants- 3GB RAM/32 internal storage & 4GB RAM/64 GB internal storage with upto 128GB expandable memory. This smartphone runs on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow out-of-the-box with Dolby Audio support and a 2.2 GHz octa-core processor. It has a 5.5” FHD (1920 x 1080) 2.5D curved glass. The phone runs on a 3050 mAh non-removable battery with Turbo Charging support Talking about camera, it has a 16 MP primary camera with f/2.0 aperture, PDAF support and dual tone flash and an 8 MP front camera. The phone weighs 163.00 grams and has a dimension of 151.35 x 75.35 x 7.85 (height x width x weight)

Design: Moto M comes with an All Metal design and is round edged. It also has a finger print scanner at the back, unlike other Motorola phones which have the same in the front. This smartphone comes with a water-repellent nano coating making it water and dust resistant. It weighs 163 grams, which is slightly heavier.

Battery: The smartphone has 3050 mAh battery and the best part is that it would stay alive for the complete day or sometimes even 2 with a heavy usage.

Camera: Moto M has a 16 MP main camera with dual LED. It doesn’t have optical image stabilisation, which can make the images blurry at times. Still the camera is quite good. Compared to the cameras of phone in this price segment, it can be best of all. It has a front camera of 8 MP with f/2.0 aperture. There’s no flash in the front camera, still selfies are pretty good but can’t compete with those of Vivo V5 and Oppo F1s Selfie expert’s camera.

Charging: It has the newest type C USB cable and has the fast charging support inbuilt, which takes the battery from 10 % to 50 % in just 15 minutes.

Finger print sensor: It has a finger print sensor at the back under the main camera. The sensor is quick and sensitive and the phone can save up to 5 fingerprints.

Price: The phone will be retailed for Rs.15,999 for 32 GB variant. In this price range, it is going to face tough competition with LeEco Le 2, Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 to name a few.

Overall verdict: It’s quite early to say anything about the Moto M in definitive terms, once we get to use it for an extended period of time then only can we comment on this device’s quality and other parameters. The only thing we know for sure right now is that it certainly looks like a good device on paper. But the real world experience would determine how good/bad this smartphone is.
