During the 2024 Taipei Computer Show keynote, Nvidia’s Jensen Huang discussed how generative AI will reshape the software stack, showcasing their NIM (Nvidia Inference Microservices) cloud-native microservices.
Nvidia believes the “AI factory” will drive a new industrial revolution. Taking Microsoft’s software industry as an example, Huang emphasized that generative AI will overhaul the entire software stack.
To facilitate AI services deployment for businesses of all sizes, Nvidia introduced NIM in March 2024.
“NIM is a set of optimized cloud-native microservices designed to reduce time to market and simplify the deployment of generative AI models anywhere in the cloud, data centers, and GPU-accelerated workstations. It uses industry-standard APIs to abstract the complexity of AI model development and production packaging, thereby expanding the developer pool.”

Nvidia has also released a Llama3 large model NIM container, now available for download and deployment from Nvidia’s official website.
