Swipe Elite 2 Review: Great Budget Performer

After the success of the Elite smartphone, the parent company Swipe has now launched Swipe Elite 2 which is one of the few budget smartphones that supports 4G connectivity. And not just that, the device boasts numerous features. Let’s have a closer look at our Swipe Elite 2 review to find what this device has in store for you.

Swipe Elite 2 review: Design and Display

The overall design of the device is pretty easy and sleek. It is not bulky or heavy and Swipe has kept minimal branding on the device, the camera panel bulges out and looks a little ugly and the battery of the device is removable.

The back cover is prone to smudges and dirt but since it is a budget smartphone, don’t expect much out of it. The display of the device is 4.5 inches, which makes it a teenie tiny device. The phone is sturdy in hands and will not fall off even after such a small size.

The head SAR value of the device is 0.357 W/Kg and the body SAR Value is 0.622 W/Kg. The screen works pretty smoothly and adjusts well toward direct sunlight. The screen is a bit glossy too and prone to smudges, so a good tampered glass is recommended,

Swipe Elite 2 review: Software and Performance

Elite 2 comes packed with MediaTek MT6735 quad-core processor topped at 1.3 GHz.

The device comes with 1 GB RAM and 8 GB internal memory which can be extended up to 32 GB. Though we do not recommend extending the storage so much due to the specs of the device, you don’t want it to hang in between your favorite video game.

The phone works pretty smoothly which includes time to time multitasking as well. But we would still recommend not loading the phone so much i.e. do not push it to its limit.

Swipe Elite 2 review: Camera

Elite 2 comes with an 8MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera. Though we would have loved some extra MPs on both cameras, then that’s dreamy wishing. With such a budget phone giving you 4G connectivity, you cannot ask for more, That is just, unfair.

The camera supports Geo-tagging, AutoFocus, and HD video recording up to 30 frames per second. The output of both cameras is great though using the rear camera we found that focus and detailing were lagging.

When you try and zoom the pictures, the picture will pixelate. Otherwise, both cameras give satisfactory performance.

Here’s a 720P HD video sample taken from the rear camera of the Swipe Elite 2:

Swipe Elite 2 review: Battery

Elite 2 runs on Li-Po 1900mAh battery which we doubt will work as per your demands. You won’t be able to work much on the device as the battery will definitely drain within 7-8 hours. So, judicious use is better.

In case you are out to buy a budget Android smartphone then either this phone or the YU Yunique would suit you better. Till next time folks!
