On May 10, MediaTek released the new Dimensity 9200+ flagship 5G mobile platform, which is a major upgrade to the Dimensity 9200 platform and offers a breakthrough in flagship performance and energy efficiency for a superior mobile gaming experience on flagship devices. The CPU and GPU performance of the Dimensity 9200+ have been significantly improved compared to the previous generation. The eight-core CPU includes an Arm Cortex-X3 super core with a main frequency of up to 3.35GHz, three Arm Cortex-X3 cores with a main frequency of up to 3.0GHz, one A715 large core, and four Arm Cortex-A510 energy-efficient cores clocked at 2.0GHz. The performance and energy efficiency of both the performance core and energy efficiency core of the Dimensity 9200+ have been improved by 10% and 11%, respectively, and both the super-large core and the large core have been upgraded to above 3.0 GHz. In terms of benchmark running scores, the Dimensity 9200+ CPU has a single-core score that increased by 10% and a multi-core score that increased by 5% compared to the Dimensity 9200. The GPU Immortalis-G715 equipped with Dimensity 9200+ has a peak frequency that can be increased by up to 17%, offering smooth performance for mobile games and complex applications. In addition to improved performance, the Dimensity 9200+ also boasts great progress in energy efficiency due to TSMC's second-generation 4nm process. In light and medium-load head games, this mobile platform can easily obtain a 20% power consumption advantage, and in heavy-duty light-chasing games, a 10% power consumption advantage. Dimensity 9200+ supports the MediaTek HyperEngine 6.0 game engine, which includes the exclusive MediaTek Game Adaptive Control Technology (MAGT) for effective scheduling of system resources, reducing power consumption, and improving battery life. After the introduction of MAGT, the power consumption of mobile terminal games can be reduced by up to 12%-18%. Furthermore, the Dimensity 9200+ mobile platform supports intelligent frame stabilization technology, variable rate rendering technology (VRS), and MediaTek HyperEngine 6.0 game engine with a smart screen power saver, which can adjust the picture quality frame by frame and reduce power consumption while maintaining the original visual experience. In terms of AI, Dimensity 9200+ is equipped with MediaTek's sixth-generation AI processor APU 690, which can enable AI noise reduction (AI-NR) and AI super-resolution (AI-SR) applications for professional movie mode video recording capabilities. Dimensity 9200+ is equipped with a MediaTek Imagiq 890 image processor, which can achieve accurate image capture, brighter, sharper, and more detailed photos, and MediaTek MiraVision 890 mobile display technology, which supports adaptive refresh rate technology and motion blur reduction technology (Motion Blur Reduction), providing a smoother display effect. Regarding communication, the Dimensity 9200+ integrates a 5G R16 modem, supports 4CC four-carrier aggregation, and can smoothly switch between the wide-coverage Sub-6GHz full-band 5G network and the high-speed mm-wave network. It also supports Wi-Fi 7 four-way dual-band (2x2+2x2) concurrency, Bluetooth 5.3, and MediaTek HyperCoex ultra-connection technology. Smartphones powered by MediaTek's Dimensity 9200+ 5G mobile chip are expected to be available in the second quarter of 2023, and the upcoming new iQOO Neo 8 Pro smartphone will be equipped with the Dimensity 9200+ flagship chip for the first time in the world.
