However, as part of celebrating 5 years in India and selling 100 million phones within these 5 years, Xiaomi India will give back a gift worth INR 500 crores to its Mi Fan community. In doing so, the first 5 million buyers of Redmi 8 will be able to buy the 4GB + 64GB variant at INR 7,999.

Anuj Sharma, Chief Marketing Officer, Xiaomi India said,

“Redmi 8 has been built for users looking for an uncompromising all-round experience, especially on the storage, RAM and camera fronts. Smartphones in this range usually offer a limited user experience, and we are trying to challenge the status quo.

“In addition, we are offering the phone at INR 1000 further below the honest price for the first five million consumers on the occasion of our fifth year anniversary, which translates to a gift of INR 500 crores to our Mi Fan community in India.  We hope that all our Indian Mi Fans will enjoy this amazing device.”
