Renowned hardware leaker Tum Apisak recently leaked some info regarding AMD’s new Athlon lineup of APUs. The AMD Athlon 300GE and 320GE might be coming sooner than expected! The new Athlon 300GE and 320GE are updated versions of 200GE and 220GE APUs. The clock frequency of these two processors respectively is 3.2 GHz and 3.4 GHz.
There’s no clear cut info regarding architecture as of now for the AMD Athlon 300GE and 320GE. Most likely these processors would come with Zen+.
According to Spanish website HardZone.es the new Athlon processors might come with Vega 9 integrated graphics as well. Compared to the previous generation Vega 3 this would be a massive graphics boost. If this leak is indeed accurate then the next generation Athlon processors might take the entry-level tag from Ryzen 3 2200G.
Resulting from this the market pricing and positioning of the new Ryzen 3 and Ryzen 5 APUs might be raised. According to previous leaks and rumours, the Ryzen 3rd Gen processors would have better heat dissipation and overclocking capacity. The number of cores isn’t expected to change but the frequency is expected to have a bump of 300Mhz.
It’s most likely that a 7nm Ryzen APU won’t be coming this year. So it’s still unclear whether AMD will improve the Ryzen 3 and Ryzen 5 APUs with a better Vega graphics core to boost sales or not.
So guys what do you think? Would you invest in an AMD Athlon based budget PC Build in the near future or not? Do let us know in the comments section below!
