It’s been some time since the AMD Ryzen 5 3600 has been out. This processor has been one of the most sought after in current times. It brings with it a lot of performance and cores and threads at a particular price point. But some consumers had been looking for an even cheaper alternative. Such buyers often ended up buying Intel Core i5 9400f based builds! But it seems there’s a new processor on the horizon i.e. AMD Ryzen 5 3500.
According to a new Tom’s Hardware report, AMD’s unreleased Ryzen 5 3500 detailed specifications are now leaked. It comes with 6 cores and 6 threads. And it will be more like a Ryzen 3 processor. The processor might come at a significantly lower price point and may open up another market for AMD.
Last month, Ryzen 5 3500 first appeared in the listing document of the Eurasian Economic Commission. Now according to popular online leaker @TUM_APISAK, Ryzen 5 3500 will come equipped with 6 cores and 6 threads. It will thus become the first AMD Ryzen 3000 series processor without SMT (synchronous multi-threading).
According to reports, this AMD Ryzen 5 3500 processor will have a basic clock frequency of 3.6 GHz and a Boost clock frequency of 4.1 GHz, with a TDP of 65 W and an L3 cache of 32MB.
Tom’s Hardware believes that the Ryzen 5 3500 may be exclusively for OEMs, similar to the Ryzen 5 2500X. From the chip’s specifications, it is clear that the Ryzen 5 3500 was developed to compete with Intel’s six-core, non-hyperthreaded i5-9400 processor.
