While the multi-core score of 7199 achieved by the Apple A17 Pro may not seem excessively higher than the A16’s 6989, it remains substantially superior to the next best option, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 leading version.
In simple words, no Android handset can compete. When it comes to single-core performances, the Apple A17 Pro takes center stage with its remarkable 3.77 GHz primary frequency, significantly improving upon the A16 and actually eclipsing the Apple M2 Ultra chip.
Even against Intel’s Core i9 14900KF, which boasts a startling 6 GHz, the gap is just around 12%. As discovered, the A17 Pro marks a significant milestone as the industry’s first chip fabricated using a cutting-edge 3 nm manufacturing process.
This upgrade from the past generation A16’s TSCM 4nm to TSCM 3nm translates into a considerable boost in transistor count—from 16 billion to 19 billion. TSMC’s 3nm technology known as N3B offers ample advancements, paving the way for exciting possibilities with future node developments.
