Long time no see? This is what budget Smartphone market had to say to Motorola. With so many releases by almost every other smartphone manufacturer the wait for a new Moto device had been going on since a long time! But now, the company is back in action with its new mobile, the brand new Moto G 2015 or simply the Moto G3. And this time, its waterproof along with many more features but the processor choice is a bit of a let down, still let’s just analyse this device in more detail!
Table of Contents
Moto G3 specifications and price:
Design and Display:
The design is still almost same as previous model, a smart and sturdy plastic body with strong curves. But now it has metal trim bezel and the camera has been rearranged on the device. And also, now Moto G has been treated to Moto Maker, which will provide buyers with new customizing options. But whether it would be available in India or not is still unclear. With an IPX7 certification, the phone is now waterproof up to 3 feet in water and for up to 30 minutes. But swimming with the phone is still not recommended.
The display of Moto G3 is not that great as compared to previous phones in the category. The colors on display come washed out if brightness is low. But vibrancy jumps up as soon as you increase the brightness on the device. The screen is 5 inch, 720*1280 display, and good enough for basic purpose. The display gives you circumspect notifications updated from time to time, so that you don’t have to wake up your phone again and again. It is protected with Corning Glass 3, to protect the screen from scratches.
Camera:
Moto G3 comes with a 13 MP rear camera, complete with imaging sensor, f2.0 lens, and Hybrid Multi layer IR cut filter. In low light, the camera can click Dual Dynamic Correlated flash automatically adjusts to click those perfect pictures, without any pixilation. The Color Temperature Flash (CCT) makes sure you get natural looking skin tones.
The front camera is 5 MP and offers a 72 degree field of view. It comes with Motorola’s best shot feature, which helps the camera recognize issues like blurred subjects or blinking eyes. It also recommends you which pictures to keep so that you always have the best shot with you. In low light, Moto G3’s display will even flash to provide you with great pictures.
The camera consists of famous Flick Wrist gesture, which you find in Moto X. You can instantly launch the camera by twisting your wrist twice. Also, twist twice again and switch to the front camera. Flick your wrist twice quickly in a chopping action to launch the flash light and repeat to turn it off.
Performance and Battery Life:
Moto G3 comes upgraded with Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 Processor with 1.4 GHz quad-core CPU. The device will have 4G LTE connectivity for lightning fast internet streaming and instant connectivity. Powered by Android 5.1 Lollipop, the device doesn’t hide operating system under custom skins, avoiding lag in performance and less storage space, giving the user the best Android experience.
Moto G3 comes with 2470 mAh battery, which lasts about a complete day with normal usage of phone features like listening to music, calling and camera. The battery is not replaceable, which is a minus point in overall great device.
