OnePlus 6 Red Edition launching on July 2 probably!

OnePlus is now ready to bring another OnePlus 6 variant- The OnePlus 6 Red Edition.

OnePlus had just launched the OnePlus 6 Silk White Edition a while ago. But today, on Twitter the company has teased something. Though the video doesn’t explicitly show anything nor the tweet says anything in the captions, but some hints point towards a new OnePlus 6 Red Edition.

Here in the tweet, there is a mention of C61422, which is the hex code for the colour red. In the video, July 2nd is mentioned so it is clear that whatever it is, it will be unveiled tomorrow. As of now, the OnePlus 6 is available in three colour options- Midnight Black, Mirror Black, and Silk White. And by looking at the past trends, we can pretty much say with confidence that it might hint towards the new OnePlus 6 Red Edition.

However, there should not be any changes in terms of specifications and hardware. The OnePlus 6 Red Edition could be just the same as a regular one packing 6GB of RAM and 64GB onboard memory. The phone will sport a 6.28-inch FHD+ AMOLED display, that comes with a notch. The phone will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC, coupled with 6GB RAM. It will be running the latest Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box with OxygenOS on top. The smartphone has a dual camera setup on the back consisting of a 16 MP and a 20MP sensor, with LED flash while there is another 6MP front-facing for selfies. Connectivity options on the phone include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac and Bluetooth 5.0 with aptX HD support, NFC and a USB Type-C port for charging and data transfer. The phone packs a 3,300 mAh battery.

The launch of the OnePlus 6 Red Edition recently became more prominent as Marques Brownlee, arguably one of the best tech YouTubers on the planet recently tweeted a photo showing a Red phone behind the OnePlus 6 Midnight Black variant and mentioned OnePlus in the tweet.

From the picture, it feels more like that the phone would have a glossy glass back instead of a matte metal finish. Let’s wait for the official unveil before any further comments!
