Google had a very great Nexus line up in the yesteryears. These were devices which had a distinct appealing design. The best of the clean Android experience. They had cameras which were great, the displays and pricing were on point. But the upcoming Google Pixel 3 seems like an uninspired product from the start itself. We know for sure that it would come with the latest software by Google i.e. Android P.
The Google Pixel 3/3XL would also definitely have an improved camera sensor. Albeit the leaks suggest that it would be a single camera sensor. But we all know that it would still beat the crap out of every other smartphone camera on the planet.
The optimizations etc. would also be on point as this is a Google product and there’s no way that the software would have any bugs at this late stage of Android development cycle.
But it’s the design that has all of us hardcore Google fans in splits. As the leaks have shown the Google Pixel 3 Xl would come with a notch style design. And as recent releases in the Android world have shown. The notch-style design is already outdated by now. We have smartphones like the Oppo Find X and Vivo Nex right in front of us.
Frankly, everything with a notch looks outdated right now, this is also because of the fact that all of these smartphones have a chin also!
The Google Pixel 3 would just be a standard bar style phone with an 18:9 display at best and a design which can be seen in the leaked unofficial render below.
The Pixel 3 Xl would have a 19:9 display with a notch. Even the next iPhone might be notch-less. If that happens and we have nothing from Google which looks that good then they might have some trouble getting some big sales numbers.
Manufacturers like OnePlus rely on their on-point pricing to make a dent in the market. The Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 Xl won’t have any boost like that as Google won’t price them anywhere close to the $500 price tag!
The OnePlus 6 is still going strong because of sporting flagship specifications and a great pricing. People who are heavily into the Google Ecosystem can still buy something like that and not need a Pixel 3 at all.
And that’s what makes us believe that the Google Pixel 3 might fail.
So what do you think? Is something like that possible? Do let us know in the comments section below!
EDIT: UPDATED ON 10th October 2018!
So guys yesterday Google announced the Pixel 3 and the Pixel 3 XL and as all the leaks pointed the devices were same with exactly same specifications as pointed out in the leaks.
The Pixel 3 XL has that dreadful notch and we can assure you that not many people will buy that phone at all! The Pixel 3 still looks like a great device and hardware wise both these devices come with few great features. Their Cameras would also get some updates and hence the overall experience would become better but still the design is a major turn off!
