Xiaomi Note 4G full review 2

First of all a little fact about the device, it has just come to India and is following the Indian tradition set by its predecessor to create and break sales records. Note 4G as the name suggest is a 4G device and we have so few of them available in the Indian market that we just adore those few which are available and Xiaomi being the cheapest in the block helps it a lot.

The device went on a flash sale on Flipkart at a Price of Rs. 9999 which is really cheap for the features it offers.

Xiaomi Note 4G Hardware

The device has a 5.5-inch screen with 720×1280 resolution which gives around 267 ppi pixel density (a bit on the lower side!). The screen is really nice in this device, bright vibrant, and full of colors. The only issue here can be the colors which may seem too rich to the eyes i.e. over saturation in some cases.

The internal memory of the Xiaomi Note 4G is quite less for all the features it has. With only 8 GB of internal memory of which only 5 GB is available to the average user, you may run out of space sooner than expected but then it has an external storage of 64 Gb too which may prove to be a lifesaver. Though the device also has USB on-the-go support so you may manage it with any external memory/storage device too.

The RAM provided is 2 GB so it’s good enough for all the heavy usage which you might do, or even heavy gaming because of the 1.6 GHz processor it provides. The processor in the Xiaomi Note 4G is Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 which is a very nice processor so multi-tasking and gaming are going to be quite easy on it.

Xiaomi Note 4G Camera

What I really loved about the device is its Camera, the Camera is very powerful here. 13 Megapixels of awesomeness at this price is extremely sweet for any user. It also boasts a 5 Megapixel front shooter for video calling and selfies and both the cameras give good quality pictures and are rich in features.

But the real-world performance of the camera is not that great when the megapixel count is kept in mind.

Xiaomi Note 4G full review 5

The device is full of features that look great at least on paper, also looks wise its one of the better phones there in the price range and the only close match is Yu Yureka smartphone by Micromax which shines in a few aspects as compared to this device.

The 4G connectivity gives a great speed, 150 Mbps on HSDPA and 50 Mbps for HSUPA.

The device is not small nor much thin, it has a solid feel to it and you feel like holding something heavy in your hands.

The battery is powerful at 3100 mAh and gives good backup for the device and the sim slot has been reduced to one from two which were there in its predecessor the Xiaomi Note. Check out our full review of the Xiaomi Redmi Note here.

Xiaomi Note 4G full review: Conclusion

Overall it’s a great device to own and being available at this price range is all the more amazing. But owning one can be a rather tricky problem and you need to be a little lucky to get your hands on it.

If you want to gift yourself a Xiaomi Note 4G for the New Year then you should register for the flash sale soon which is going to happen on the 6th of this month and cross your hands to get lucky that day.

With so many good features packed into this device, there ought to be some flaws, the most notable cons for this smartphone are the lack of display density in terms of ppi and the fact that it runs MIUI.

Some would argue that MIUI is a better variant of Android but that depends upon the user’s perception and most of the users these days prefer stock Android as opposed to skinned variants.

But still, this is not a major flaw and is actually a selling point for the device that it runs something different from the stock Android. The camera too is not as good as it’s on paper but for a device this cheap you can’t expect too much.

But this is what Xiaomi has come to stand for i.e. ultra goodness for the cheapest price and that is one thing that we all expect from every smartphone that comes under the Xiaomi brand.

  1. Hello Ketan,

Xiaomi seem to be one brand which seem to be making headway in India and from all those lovely features I’ve being reading, there is no way I’m not going to lay my hands one the Xiaomi brand when it comes to Ghana.
